Harris Teeter Trip: 9/16/10

I meant to post this yesterday, but there just weren't enough hours in the day yesterday.  I have a feeling that today is going to be one of those days as well.  I have too many different projects I am working on right now, but that's the price I pay to try to be a stay at home mom and still earn an income!  I don't go to Harris Teeter often since the closes one is thirty minutes from my house, but I was in that area yesterday and thought it would be worth my time.  Boy was I ever wrong.  I made the mistake of going on Senior Discount Day (I hope I don't offend any senior citizens out there, that is not my intention whatsoever), and got stuck behind every slow person who wouldn't decided between the low sodium or high fiber Progresso soup and who still wrote checks for their purchases.  Plus all of the best freebies and really cheap finds were wiped clean.  I still came out ok, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped.  Here's what I did:

Bought:
2 Reach dental flosses @ $1.65 each:  $3.30
1 Frank's hot sauce:  $1.00
1 Harris Teeter shredded cheese:  $0.97 (this is the e-Vic item for the week)
These were part of the General Mills Promo.  When you buy 20 participating items, you get $6.00 off your purchase.  The prices I am listing are after the $6.00 off:
8 cans of Progresso soup BOGO @ $1.05 each:  $8.40
2 Betty Crocker brownie mix @ $1.70 each:  $3.40
1 Betty Crocker cake mix:  $0.70
1 Betty Crocker frosting:  $1.20
4 Totino's Pizza Rolls @ $2.70 each:  $10.80
2 Good Earth dry dinner kits @ $3.20 each:  $6.40
1 Macroni Grill dry dinner kit:  $3.20
1 Wanchai Ferry dry dinner kit:  $3.20

Used:
$0.50/1 Frank's hot sauce from 7/25/10 SS x 9/30/10  (Made it FREE)
2  $1.00/1 Reach floss found here  (Made it FREE)
$0.75/2 Betty Crocker brownie mix from 8/8/10 SS x 10/2/10  (Made each $0.95)
$0.75 wyb Betty Crocker cake mix and frosting from 8/8/10 SS x 10/2/10  (Made each $0.20)
$0.75/1 Macaroni Grill dry dinner kit from 8/8/10 SS x 10/2/10 (Made it $1.70)
$0.75/1 Wanchai Ferry dry dinner kit from 8/8/10 SS x 10/2/10 (Made it $1.70)
2  $1.00/1 Good Earth dry dinner kit from 8/8/10 SS x 10/9/10  (Made each $1.20)
2 $1.00/4 Progresso soups found here  (Made each can $0.80)
2 $1.00/2 Pizza Rolls found here  (Made each $2.20)

Total Spent:  $26.73
Total Saved:  $52.57

I ended up spending a little more than I had planned, so I ended up going over my grocery/drug store budget for the week by $2.00.  Can you believe that?  Two stinkin' dollars!  I don't think I'll be making the trip back to Harris Teeter again anytime soon!
