CVS Trip 9/5/10

Yay for another week of free SoBes at CVS!  My husband has recently switched from drinking 3 or 4 sodas every day to drinking SoBe LifeWater instead.  They are pricey at $1.59 each, so when I can get them for free like this, I stock up!  I did two different transactions at two different stores (so I could be sure to not hog all the SoBes at one store and leave some for others!).  Here's what I did:

Transaction #1:
Bought:
12 SoBe LifeWaters (on sale BOGO Free):  $9.54
1 pack of Stride Shift gum:  $0.99  (When I gave the gum to my eight-year-old stepdaughter she started shouting, "Berry to mint!  Berry to mint!"  Just like in the commercial.)
1 pack of High Octane energy chews:  $1.99
Used:
6 BOGO SoBe coupons from the Heads or Tails game.
$3.00 ECB (Extra Care Bucks I had from a few weeks ago)
Total Spent:  $0.88  (My subtotal before tax was actually -$0.02)
Total Saved:  $22.58
Received back:  $2.98 ECB  ($0.99 for the gum and $1.99 for the energy chews)

Transaction #2:
Bought:
12 SoBe LifeWaters (on sale BOGO Free): $9.54

1 box of Huggies Snug and Dry diapers:  $20.00
1 bottle of Johnson and Johnson baby lotion:  $2.50
1 bottle of Johnson and Johnson baby wash:  $2.50
Used:
6 BOGO SoBe coupons from the Heads or Tails game.
$3.00/1 Huggies Snug and Dry diapers found here
$1.00/1 Johnson and Johnson baby lotion from here
$1.00/1 Johnson and Johnson baby wash from here
$5.00/$30.00 CVS coupon (this was emailed to me from CVS)
$5.00 ECB from a few weeks ago
$1.99 ECB from first transaction
$0.99 ECB from first transaction
Total Spent:  $10.02 (including tax)
Total Saved:  $43.94
Received back:  $10.00 ECB  (from the baby sale deal)

If you are new to CVS you can do the same transactions as I did; however you will spend about $9.00 more OOP (out of pocket) since you won't have any ECB to start with.  Just make sure before you go you that you register your card online.  Once it is registered, you will be emailed a coupon for $4.00 off any $20.00 purchase you can use in the second transaction.

I'm planning on going back in the morning.  When I scanned my card at the red coupon machine, I received a few coupons that are only good tomorrow.  Here's tomorrow's plan:

Buy:
12 SoBe LifeWaters (on sale BOGO Free): $9.54
4 gallon size jugs of Nursery water (on sale 10/$10):  $4.00
1 king size Mars candy bar (on sale 2/$2):  $1.00
Use:
$3.00/$10.00 CVS coupon (from the red coupon machine)
$0.75/1 Mars king size candy bar (from the red coupon machine)
6 BOGO SoBe coupons from the Heads or Tails game.
$1.00/4 gallon jugs of Nursery water coupons found here.  (You must register to get the coupon.)

If this works out the way I want it to, I should only spend $0.25 plus tax for all the items without having to use any ECB!
